• Course: TDD for C++
  • Date entered: 2017-11-20 17:15:18 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: to have patience, diligence when putting our legacy c code into the test harness.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: Maybe going over the kinds of errors/bugs/etc. that unit testing/TDD will not help with. So we can prepare for, or at least won't be so surprised by, any gotchas along the way.
  • Exercise rating: Very Good
  • Exercise improvements: They were pretty good. The last one was maybe a little too much embedded (bitmasking) for me but it was fine.
  • Instructor comments: professional and engaging
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Yes, because small steps.
  • Challenges to applying: I have got the concepts down, i think, but to apply them to our legacy code is going to take practice. The temptation to skip the first failing test is still strong.
  • Other comments: You did a great job despite a rough start and I appreciated that we still got to get something out of it.
  • Legacy code workshop: Yes
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
