• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2017-09-30 04:07:15 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: Unit Testing Techniques. Followed by development processes and tools and the resources. I have added several books to my required reading list.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: More information. -- The course would have to be longer. -- Also possibly a workshop with my code. -- I would need to get my management buy-in for this. I would like to have setup a single unit test on some of my code.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements: The exercises were perfect. I was a little rusty on C. That seemed to be the limiting factor in completing the exercises. I still think I learned whet I needed.
  • Instructor comments: Knows his stuff. Has practical approach that is not blindingly purist. Speaks clearly. The material was well presented. he was definitely prepared and rehearsed.
  • Better prepared: Bring it on!
  • Start tomorrow: I will start Monday! I need the weekend to recover from travel! I am doing mostly python at the moment. So, the unit testing concepts will be very helpful even if the C portion is not. I have a C application in my project. There is very little effort currently needed on that.
  • Challenges to applying: I have to do it all myself. -- no local support. I want to introduce these concepts to our team in China. However, I need to show some tangible success from the Acceptance tesing environment I am working on. Nothing sells better than success. I think I can dot with in a month or two.
  • Other comments: I would have selected a place where the hotels are less expensive. It took an extra half day of effort to get the hotels selected and approved since they were over the $200/night corporate limit.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
