• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2015-08-27 20:25:05 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: How to use CppuTest framework, going through the process of setting up a unit test with CppuTest with a module from one of our code bases (worked after only ~3.5 hrs -- I wasn't sure we would be able to get it working in the 4 hr time period that we had available)
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: Overall, I thought the course was well done. The only improvements that I can think of would be go into more detail on how to detail with some of the deeper points embedded developers bring up sooner in the course. I don't think we really got good insight into how to deal with this until the 3rd day when we tried using one of our code modules.
  • Exercise rating: Good
  • Exercise improvements: See comment on how the course can be improved
  • Instructor comments: Very good. Did a good job describing the process as well as maintaining a pragmatic approach. I think this was important to keep the interest of the developers
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: yes
  • Challenges to applying: Key challenge will be getting this started and staying the course

  • Legacy code workshop: No
