• Course: TDD for Embedded C++
  • Date entered: 2021-06-11 07:02:53 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings: Since I already read about TDD before it was not really new to me, but it was nice to hear the concepts from someone who is "living" this. This is always something different than only reading about the topic. So I would say, the most useful thing here for me was having real live feedback :)
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: I understand that this was a basic course for getting familiar with TDD. But I would also like to see more about how we can have support from different tools. Like how does my UnitTest Framework affect the TDD idea etc. Maybe it doesn't, but I think with the many tools out there it could help to have some points for the decision.
  • Exercise rating: Good
  • Exercise improvements:
  • Instructor comments: James did an excellent job in my opinion and he knows what he is talking about.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Yes!
  • Challenges to applying: Not so much "new code" but maintenance of legacy code. So it takes some time to refactor the underlying code in my opinion to benefit from the changes for TDD.
  • Other comments: Overall very good. Breaks were find and the virtual working environments were really helpfull.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
