• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2018-10-03 19:08:39 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: What TDD looks like and how it is used. Also appreciated learning about how to get started with Legacy Embedded C code.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: Maybe focus on TDD (and related concepts) as opposed to Agile/Scrum related material. I know both are related, but TDD is the focus.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements: They are fine for initially understanding TDD. Maybe have an example of working through adding a test harness to Legacy C code.
  • Instructor comments: Very good pace, and interesting to listen to.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: I should, but I need to setup a test environment, etc.
  • Challenges to applying: Current mindset of some "old time" programmers. As they say: "Change is hard"... ;-)
  • Other comments: This training was on 3 days, but I wonder if the same material spread over 4 with more Legacy C examples would give me a better chance of success in the short term.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
