Course code: MEG-1
  • Years with company: 8
  • Years programming: 13
  • Primary programming language: VHDL
  • Other programming languages: C, C#
  • Unit test harnesses: Non
  • Something else: .
  • Test practice now: Manually check the functionality.
  • Target system: Self-developed PCB board, controlled by an FPGA.
  • Dev tools: Intel Quartus II, Visual Studio
  • Build time: 31-60 seconds
  • Coding standard: I code only a few lines and then test the function.
  • Function too long: Admittedly when I get the feeling that the code has become too long. I don't have any rules for that.
  • Code reviews: I'll give the code to a colleague to test.
  • Code time: 20
  • Test time: 40
  • Debug time: 40
  • Favorite thing about dev: Develop software to make difficult and complicated tasks be solved. Be creative.
  • Least favorite thing about dev: Long debugging sessions.
  • Tdd knowledge: Not very much: Before coding you define tests the function later must pass. These tests are automated.
  • Why are you attending: As part of the Meggerwide SW Group and as a firmware developer I am interested in improving code quality and easing the test procedure.
