  • Most useful learnings: The clarification of concepts (new and existing) and underlying reasoning behind TDD philosophy. Clarify specs, automate, iterate in small chunks, half-finished design is acceptable WIP and usually an indication you need more test cases.

  • Course improvements: I think it could be updated to incorporate the role of AI in TDD dev, and how it applies. AI has changed the whole firmware development paradigm. TDD is still useful of course, but the world in which it was created for has changed.

  • Exercise improvements: I found the excercises thorougly useful, relevant, challenging at times, and enjoyable.
  • Instructor comments: As per email. The only issue I had with the exercises was the platform (code-dojo) repeatedly giving me mobbing errors. I was tempted to move the excercises locally but I wasn't sure if my intermediate workings would be valid (i.e. a requirement for the course to pass) or not so I stuck to the code-dojo. Maybe this needs clarification. Is it OK if I complete the excercises locally?

  • Start tomorrow: Yes. Our FW team already uses TDD in standard practice. This was for me a refresher/chance to deepen my knowledge.
