• Course: C/C++
  • Date entered: 2026-07-10 08:50:09 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: How to break down code into smaller bits for testing which also helped code readability. Also having not done much of c++ before learned how to do macros and refactor in c++.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: I feel like during the presentations, James would go on for like an hour and a half and then open up for questions at the end, which is fine but personally I struggle with paying attention for extended periods of time and like it when lectures would have interactive quiz or something in the middle to retain audiences attention.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements:
  • Instructor comments: Very friendly and loved when he did stories of personal experiences.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: yes and I will
  • Challenges to applying: We already do practise TDD so it wouldn't be too hard
  • Other comments:
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
