Hello James,

As stated in the fields above, my name is Patrick Christell, I am a recruiter with Grindr and I am on the hunt for a world-class Agile Coach for a long-term FTE commitment in Los Angeles, either corp-to-corp or (ideally) as an employee of Grindr.  Since you are one of the top Agile thought leaders on the planet, and an original co-author of the Agile Manifesto, I thought it couldn’t hurt to reach out and see if you were possibly interested, or if not, if you could recommend someone — as I do believe your recommendation would be highly incisive and valuable.

The broad strokes:  Grindr is an app that helps gay men find other gay men.  It currently being used in 192 countries. Grindr produces 900MM API Calls per day, 65MM Chat Messages per day, 10k Geo Spatial database operations per second, 300k Profile Image uploads per day and 2MM Chat Images exchanged per day.  We believe that we are on the bleeding edge of geolocation technology.

We are looking for a functional Coach with a light, flexible touch, not too overbearing or didactic, who (again, ideally) has a hearty mix of experience between startups and larger-scale enterprises.  Our ideal Coach has an understanding of Engineering practices beyond a theoretical level but takes a less technical, more philosophical/metrics based approach, following Agile as laid out by Sutherland and Schwaber. We have been practicing TDD/BDD for about a year.  Please find the job description in the link below.  You’ll note that the first line reads "This is an AGILE COACH opportunity for someone who has worked with and been trained by Jeff Sutherland.”  While this is no longer a requirement, it does say a lot about where we're coming from.
