Hello, I am the manager for the platform base software team. We are working on safety critical braking systems and have unit test requirements based on Functional Safety Iso-26262. My principal engineers cannot agree on how we should be doing unit testing. The company is using a tool called LDRA which can help setup tests based on code with a GUI and is used for code coverage statistics and static analysis reports. The tool is a "certified" tool which is important in our industry. I'm concerned that this method of unit testing is testing the implementation and not the requirements and I'm concerned it is tightly coupled. At the same time I am worried that decoupling the testing and implementation may not be ISO26262 compliant. I would like my engineers to take a course with you to get on the same page of test driven development in C for embedded systems. I'm also hoping for some consulting of how we might solve these issues. At the very least I need to get them on the same page theoretically so that they can come up with the right process and tools solution. SO what are the options that would best meet this need? Remote classes first? Consulting with our current setup and problems? What's the cost? Thanks, Matthew Borton Software Manager Veoneer - VNBS
