Biamp's embedded software is not merely embedded, but tightly bound to custom hardware that operates on media (audio and video). We have some unit tests in a framework, which seems to me matches your prescription for TDD. Our testing also necessarily includes - at some point in the development process - running a complete, integrated audio/video system. In any case, what we're doing for automated and manual test is insufficient in coverage, and development and regression time. I'm looking into training (or, I suppose, coaching) to help us improve test coverage at reduced time to reduce overall development time to ship without compromising quality (isn't everyone?) If I've provided enough information, can you suggest to me how your "Test-Driven Development for Embedded C++" training would help us, given our current state and desired improvements?
