• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2016-11-15 15:13:20 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: Prior to the training I was unaware of the scale of testing performed when TDD is implemented correctly. After the training I was able to report more accurately on the benefits of implementing this in our development cycle.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Too much discussion
  • Course improvements: I'm not sure it would fit in the two days allowed, but in addition it would be great to spend more time on implementing TDD in a new project. I would imagine this would involve learning more about the test harnesses, and an example of starting a brand new project with a test harness.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements: I can't think of any improvments
  • Instructor comments: Very qualified to teach the course, well prepared for the training session. The discussion would wander infrequently, but when it did it went a bit off topic.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: I would love to start tomorrow, but I think I would have to hire a consultant or trainer for a short time to get started on the right foot. Some of that may be my lack of prior knowledge of test harnesses, and general principles. I wouldn't be able to spend the time trying to learn it myself when it could be accelerated by assistance.
  • Challenges to applying: Just the new learning curve, and assistance to get started.

  • Legacy code workshop: No
