• Course: TDD for Embedded C

  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: What mocks are and what TDD really looks like. I had some preconceived notions and I'm glad they were reconfigured appropriately. I'm really interested in seeing how I can take this knowledge and start integrating tests into our legacy code.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: I'd definitely be interested in an exercise where we are given some legacy code and a function(s) to write a test on. This would be a really interesting capstone project.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements:
  • Instructor comments: Generally excellent! Sometimes he got a little carried away on certain topics and re-iterated a few too many times. I really felt like he knew what he was talking about (and maybe most importantly had the experience to back it up!)
  • Better prepared: Bring it on!
  • Start tomorrow: Throughout this week I've been trying to tighten our products' build tools to see how I can smooth that loop. That is going to be a continuing goal.
  • Challenges to applying: Tightening the build tools and getting them into a state that is usable, especially by inexperienced engineers.
