Course code: DYNON-1
  • Years with company: 12
  • Years programming: 30
  • Primary programming language: c++
  • Other programming languages: none
  • Unit test harnesses: cpputest
  • Something else: Rather not.
  • Test practice now: More and more unit testing with lots and lots of manual integration testing.
  • Target system: embedded linux x86
  • Dev tools: qt creator, subversion, smartsvn
  • Build time: 1-5 minutes
  • Coding standard: Ha!
  • Function too long: When it's hard to understand.
  • Code reviews: We have then regularly now which is good, but I would still consider them unfocused.
  • Code time: 33%
  • Test time: 33%
  • Debug time: 33%
  • Favorite thing about dev: Creating something useful from nothing.
  • Least favorite thing about dev: Determining what a customer really needs vs what they think they want. Arguing with management about priorities, especially around tooling, refactoring etc.
  • Tdd knowledge: Whatever I could absorb from countless youtube presentations and web pages. It sure would be nice to have an environment where you can make changes and not guess at the consequences.
  • Why are you attending: I've already completed one tdd course and am really interested in some SOLID coaching.
